Electrical Machine(part-1)

Blog number:-019
Hello Everybody,
Well, I hope you all will be fine.
In our last two Sessions, we discussed about Magnetic Effects of Electric Current. Today in this session we will discuss the application of Magnetic Effect of Electric Current. The discovery of Magnetic Effect of Electric current opens a new dimension of physics which helps to invent Motor, Transformer, Electrical Generator,  and Many more.

We will mainly focus on Electrical Machines. So let's begin our Discussion.

Electrical Machine:-
                        Electrical Machines
electric machine is a general term for electric motors and electric generators and other electromagnetic machines. They are electromechanical energy converters: an electric motor converts electricity to mechanical power while an electric generator converts mechanical power to electricity. The moving parts in a machine can be rotating (rotating machines) or linear (linear machines). Besides motors and generators, a third category often included is transformers, which although they do not have any moving parts are also energy converters, changing the voltage level of an alternating current.
Electric machines, in the form of generators, produce virtually all electric power on Earth, and in the form of electric motors consume approximately 60% of all electric power produced.

Static Machine- The machine which do not have any moving parts, are called static machine. such as Transformer.
Transformer- A transformer is a static device that converts alternating current from one voltage level to another level (higher or lower), or to the same level, without changing the frequency. A transformer transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled conductors—the transformer's coils. A varying electric current in the first or primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the transformer's core and thus a varying magnetic field through the secondary winding. This varying magnetic field induces a varying electromotive force (EMF) or "voltage" in the secondary winding. This effect is called mutual induction.

Rotating Machine- The machine which have rotating part integrated within machine, are called Rotating Machine. such Motor, Generator.
Generator-An electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. The rotating part of generator is called Prime Mover.
Generators are classified into two types, AC generators and DC generators.
Motor- An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. The reverse process of electrical generators.
Motors are classified into two types, AC Motors and DC Motors.

In our next session, we will discuss these Static ans Rotating Machine in More detail. So, That's all for this session. If you have any doubt regarding the topic, please comment. Stay tuned and Stay happy.
Thank you.
